  • Lack of time: Many people have busy schedules and may not have time to organize and clean their spaces. I mean look at all those cords and wires! It can be very distracting and an eyesore to look at. This disorganization will make you feel like you’re not in control and that life is a mess.
  • Lack of motivation: Some people may not find cleaning and organizing to be a priority and may not be motivated to put in the effort. If you start with a messy bed, your day will most likely follow. The same rule applies in the office. It can get a little messy when our creative juices are flowing, but its always great to start and end your day with a clean canvas. And remember, your day starts the night before.
  • Difficulty making decisions: For some, making decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of can be difficult, and they may avoid organizing as a result. I know I personally have the toughest time making decisions of starting a project because it sounds so overwhelming at first. I usually get all excited to start a project but then talk myself out of it because I make it seem like a daunting task. But I promise, if you tackle big projects with small, feasible goals it will make the process easier.
  • Difficulty sticking to a routine: Even if someone does make an effort to organize, they may find it difficult to maintain a consistent routine and the space may quickly become cluttered again. So remember to give yourself small tastes that you can bust out and before you know it, you’re steps closer to a healthy and organized office!
  • Difficulty starting the process: For some people, the thought of having to go through and organize everything can be overwhelming, and they may not know where to start.
  • Hoarding tendencies: Some people may have hoarding tendencies and have a hard time letting go of items, making it difficult to keep their space organized. If you haven’t used it in a months or even years it might be time to let go.
  • Lack of organizational skills: Some people may not have the skills or knowledge necessary to effectively organize their space. This is where I come in to help you! You’re not alone.
  • No specific organization system: Without a specific system or method to follow, it can be hard to make progress on getting organized. Having a system in place will also help you stay organized.
  • Past Trauma: Sometimes, past traumatic experiences can prevent people from being able to maintain their living spaces. Addressing these underlying issues with the help of a therapist, counselor or professional organizer can be helpful.
